A Picture A Day - June 2009
A fun month of vacation and enjoying the yard. A little disappointed in myself this month. I manage to get the pictures taken, but I went weeks without organizing them in Flickr. Laziness on my part. Will do better in July.
Twitter hash tags, the weather, and a proposal
I posted an article over at Blog Oklahoma about using hash tags to track weather on Twitter, and suggesting we get a list together for people as a reference. You can read it here.
Back from vacation!
Back from vacation!
Donna, Mom, and I had a great trip down to the Davis/Sulphur area last week. I can highly recommend visiting the Chickasaw National Recreation Area to you. Donna and I are even planning to visit there again in hopes to walk even more the the many trails they offer.
We found several new entries for the BlogOklahoma.us Historic Places Database, and some disappointing updates for a few others. Three of the markers we went after cannot be found.
I'm also planning another edition of the Exploring Oklahoma History podcast. I'll be talking about what happens when you don't plan a trip / marker hunt ahead of time. I'm also doing some research on the name change from Platt National Park to Chickasaw National Recreation Area. If you have any information on Platt National Park, please feel free to post a comment.
Even though it was a great week, it is so nice to be home.
You won't believe what Donna did while I was shooting this video! Hint.

A Picture A Day - May 2009
It was an interesting May. Discovered a frustration with my iPhone. It doesn't keep the picture date and time when I send it to Flickr. Guess I'll just need to remember to send in my pictures on the same day.

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy
Think I'll need to learn how to spell esophagogastroduodenoscopy. It could be a powerful Scrabble word.

Dude, where's the podcast?
Reposted from Blog Oklahoma:
Looked at my calendar today, and noticed it's been almost a month since I posted another podcasts. Wow time flies doesn't it. I'll get back to a regular schedule soon, just have too much going on right now.Blog Oklahoma: Dude, where's the podcast?
First I would like to thank all of you for the well wishes you've sent my grandmother. She's still in the hospital, but on last report, is finally being moved out of the ICU and in her own room. If you follow my personal blog, I'll be posting more news of her recovery whenever I get it.
Next it's Spring! I've been taking every opportunity to work out in the yard. My wife and I have started our vegetable garden, been cleaning the flowerbeds, and have been busy with a whole host of outside chores. After being cooped up all winter long, it's a joy to spend all day outside just mowing the lawn and digging in the dirt.
And finally I'm busy putting the final touches on the the latest version of the Blog Oklahoma web site. I'm hoping to launch it very soon (very very soon). A big THANK YOU to everyone who sent in feedback. I couldn't have gotten it done this much without your help.
Well that's it, an update to what's going on. Please feel free to follow @blogoklahoma on Twitter or join our Facebook group for the latest Blog Oklahoma news. You also can follow me at @programwitch.
Until Next Time.

Stamp Prices Rise on May 11th
The cost to mail that letter is about to go up again on May 11th. It would probably be a good idea to go down to the post office, and buy a roll of Forever Stamps this week.
On May 11 the price for a 1-ounce First-Class Mail stamp will increase from 42¢ to 44¢. Prices for other mailing services — Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services (including Parcel Post), and Extra Services — will also change. The average increase by class of mail is at or below the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index.USPS.com: Mailing Services Prices Effective Monday, May 11, 2009
